Angel

The work, naturally enough, doesn't have the slick lines and shading of the original airbrushed piece... nor should it, in my opinion! Much more importantly, it does have the spirit of the piece, an obvious love of the model, and an interpretation that pays homage but is it's own person; a far better "way of being" than mere slavish sycophancy..


I use vector graphics for most of what I do, so note the clean lines, the beautifully Bezier curves of the hair, an important aspect of that early eighties look, as well as the nod to solarisation and the classic pin-up. The colour balance and palette enhances the skin tones without going overboard giving a distinctive feel. All-in-all an accomplished piece, worthy of being admired by many.
