There is another contest I have entered which has come up for voting.

Unfortunately, once again, I am pulling my piece out, this time because of what I consider untrue voting. I have run contests, and watched and participated in SEVERAL others where winners are decided by polls. This works well when you have one poll, so everyone involved can see and judge every piece on a whole. When you split a poll in two, the second group
AS A WHOLE gets roughly 1/3 of the total votes in the entire competition. I entered this contest thinking it would be judged by four individuals, however it is now being decided by poll, had I known this, I would not have entered knowing there would be a lot of other pieces, and would not have wanted to have this poll issue.
I am not doing this because I am afraid of losing, or because I think my piece is any better or worse. I would also do this if I was in the first group because it is unfair. This was clearly posted as a JUDGED contest, and not a polled one.
What are the four judges going to judge anyways?I'm getting tired of this crap, no more contests for me for a while!

Once again, someone out there has decided it is much easier to just take artwork from dA and make a web page, saying they created the artwork in question. The only problem is, I know at least a few of the people involved. Why do people think they can get away with this?
Artwork I know is stolen!!!!!

There is much more, and I will update as I find out who and where it is stolen, please help me and report any you see and recognize by linking to it!!!!! I wanted to get the word out as quick as possible!!

After a long battle with cancer,
Farrah Fawcett passed away today, she was 62. An icon in the 70's and early 80's, Farrah was one of the most recognizable pinups of all time.
Starring in Charlie's Angels, she made a mark as one of a trio of crime fighting bombshells. Although she left the show after a short time, she went on to star in several highly acclaimed movies (yes, she could act!).
Three Emmy, and two Golden Globe nominations showed she had more than just a golden smile and sex appeal.
Farrah Fawcett, the Queen of the 70's,
I will miss her.

Michael Jackson has also passed today.
Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, the seventh of nine children. He was 50. Whether you love him or hate him, nobody can deny he was a legend. With nearly a billion dollars in record sales, and 13 Grammys, he was one of the most successful entertainers in history.

I usually don't get to feature an artist with a cool flame logo!
Every once in a while, you get to see an artist on dA really grow and develop a skill. In Shaake's case, I think there was a talented designer there that learned how to vexel. This feature is about that. I start with three of my favorites, in all three, very clean linework and graphic details.

After investigating =
shaake-gfx's gallery further, I discovered a very strong grasp of design principle, color, and layout skills. I really hope these skills continue to develop as I think the talent is there! From these excellent examples, one could hardly argue.

There are also some awesome photomanips hidden in this gallery, very creative and thoughtful. I enjoyed going through them, I'm sure you will too! =
shaake-gfx has also shown community involvement, and has always been a solid member of DeviantArt!
